What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

One of my favorite things at The Wittliff is the Mexican photographer’s camera, horse and tourist photographs. The photographer set it up in the town plaza, attracting tourists for a souvenir photograph. It is a unique time-capsule.

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

My favorite thing at The Wittliff is a handful of musical scores handwritten by Cenobio Hernandez, a silent film era orchestra musician, whose waltzes and polkas for his granddaughters are a window to the sounds of San Antonio in the 1940s.

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

My favorite thing at The Wittliff are the researchers. We preserve these collections so that they will be used, and it is wonderful when someone comes in – no matter their age, background, or interests – and discover something that really resonates with them.

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

An audiotape interview with Tejano singer Esmi Talamantez is my favorite thing at The Wittliff. In it, she talks about what Selena meant to her, as a strong and powerful female performer.

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

My favorite thing at The Wittliff is all of the stories, insights, and inspiration that are in our collections. I love that, depending on the day, my work can include anything from Hunter S. Thompson's letters to Grover Lewis, early publicity photographs of Selena, or early drafts of John Rechy's City of Night

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

Beyond the wonderful staff, collections and spaces, my favorite thing is Basil Poledouris’s Emmy-winning film score to the Lonesome Dove mini-series playing in the permanent exhibit every day. It is truly inspirational.

What is your favorite thing at The Wittliff?

My favorite thing in The Wittliff is Willie Nelson’s first songbook. I mean, the guy had written a song called “Hangover Blues" by the time he was 12! That’s serious business!
