Sam Shepard often creates mockups for his books-in-progress, such as this one for Motel Chronicles, a set of prose, poems, and diary entries with photographs by Johnny Dark. Some of the diary entries were written at the Holiday Inn in San Marcos while Shepard was shooting the film Resurrection.
