The Wittliff welcomes visitors from around the world and makes every effort to assist visiting researchers during their stay in San Marcos or the surrounding area. Below is some general information to assist in planning a research visit.
Due to space constrictions, we require all individuals interested in conducting archival research in The Wittliff's reading room to make an appointment.
Walk-in patrons will be accommodated only if there is space available.
Hours for research are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Hours are subject to change during university breaks and interim sessions. The Wittliff is closed on holidays.
Visitor parking is available upon request. Please contact the archivist to make arrangements.
The Wittliff is located on the seventh floor of the Albert B. Alkek Library. Follow the driving directions to the Alkek garage. There is a guard booth at the gated entrance to the parking garage.
Public Transportation on Campus
Transportation Services provides shuttle service to Texas State students, faculty, and staff in San Marcos and is available for visitors.
