BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Journalist and folk arts researcher Kay Council earned her Masters in American Civilization/Folklore from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978. She currently resides in Corpus Christi, Texas.

 

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

This collection is comprised of a typescript, an interview, photographs, and correspondence related to Council’s unpublished project, “Curanderas: Texas-Mexican Visionaries: Folklore Interviews with Faith Healers and Intuitive Women”. Dates range from 1987-1989.
