The Wittliff Collections celebrates what would have been the 70th birthday of Texas blues guitar icon Stevie Ray Vaughan with a new photo exhibit, a film screening, conversation and birthday cake. Houston photographer Tracy Anne Hart and filmmaker Kirby F. Warnock are special guests at this Thursday evening event. Hart was a close friend and took some of the most iconic and recognized photographs of SRV. Ten of his favorite photos are on display in the Spirit of Place Gallery and in La Avenida. Warnock’s excellent documentary “Brothers in Blues: The Story of Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan” is a must-see for any music lover and fan of the blues. Hart and Warnock’s work offer insights into the mythic brotherly relationship. The program begins with opening remarks from Hart and Warnock followed by a screening of “Brothers in Blues.”
